Did you know that you do not have to pay for a web host? Did you know you can get free web hosting without ads? Most people don’t. In fact most people, including many of my fellow authors pay monthly or yearly fees for a place to host their web pages. The truth is I had searched for an ad-free web host before and come up either empty handed or very disappointed with what was available, that is until I found 110mb, but let me start at the beginning.

In addition to writing for my site, I’m a speculative romance author. I don’t have a lot of money in my marketing budget, in fact I have almost none, so my author web pages are one of my biggest marketing tools. Two years ago when I first put up my author’s website, I decided to go with Bravenet. At the time they were the best deal around for a free web host, though they did have forced ads on their pages. One of the good things about them is the many free tools such as guestbooks, chatrooms, and their Tell-A-Friend services are a few of the things that made them desirable as a free web host. However, half way into my second year with them, I began getting tired of looking at the forced ads on my pages, and the fact that sometimes my graphics weren’t appearing. I later found out the graphics problem was space on my computer and not Bravenet, but I still didn’t like the ads.

I found a list of supposedly “free” web hosts, and proceeded to check each one out. I even signed up for a couple of them, but then found I could not work their online web page editors for some reason. Disgusted, I almost gave up on the idea of an ad-free web host, but then I did a little more research and decided to try one more time. I’m really glad now that I did, because I now have beautiful ad-free web pages that look professional, and for which I was able to forward my domain name with no problem. What I most love about 110mb is that they have 2000 MB of free storage space and 1000 GB of bandwidth monthly, as well as many other options such as free Apache Server, free support tickets, free PHP5 and more. The space and bandwidth is more than double what I was getting at Bravenet and it is without any forced ads! 110mb has very fast servers and a great online web pages editor that is easy to use, and can be used even if you do not know HTML. Also, they listen to their members, so that if you have any problems you can get them quickly resolved. Finally, while they do not offer free guestbooks, or chatrooms and other of this type of service, Bravenet does, and they are high quality, so if that is a sticking point, get those services through Bravenet or somewhere else if you need them. It may be in time that those services will be added as 110mb is adding new services all the time.

If you are fed up with paying monthly or yearly web hosting fees, or you are sick and tired of forced ads on your pages, or pop-ups that arrive at the most inopportune times, then move on over to 110mb. I’m positive that you will find this web host every bit as professional, and helpful as your current web host, and (here’s the best part) it’s free!

If you do decide to go and check them out, be sure and let me know what you think!
